We are proud to carry the NX-3000 Real Silent 300 Watt Power Supply, one of the quietest ATX computer power supplies available. Nexus power supplies are the standard for silent power supplies. At idle, the NX-3000 runs at a super silent 18.6 decibels. At normal (active) use it runs at 19.8 decibels (an accurate measurement - measured using the ISO07779 standard).
The Nexus uses an intelligent variable speed fan, and therefore runs quieter when your computer is demanding less power (18.6 decibels during idle) and slightly noisier during average load (19.8 decibels). Unlike other quiet power supply manufacturers, Nexus doesn't cut decibels by sacrificing cooling. All our Nexus silent power supplies are truly the best balance between cooling and silence. Yet, these Nexus power supplies are amazingly quiet - winning the contest of silence without sacrificing cooling.
**Special Note to Owners of Dell Computers:** If your Dell computer was manufactured after August 1998, it may require the use of a proprietary Dell power supply. Although the Dell power supply looks like a standard ATX, it is a non-standard PSU that cannot be replaced with a standard power supply alone. Because of this design difference your Dell Power Supply may need a Dell to ATX power supply converter in order to be replaced with any of our standard ATX Quiet Power Supplies.
