Energy Efficient

The Nexus RX-8500 power supply is guaranteed to provide you with over 80% efficiency (see graph elsewhere on the box). This means the power supply is using the power it is drawing from the wall outlet more efficient and less electricity is wasted. Obviously this is better for the environment and it saves you on your electricity Bill! A more efficient power supply also results in a cooler power supply. So less cooling is needed and we are able to make the power supply even quieter.

Silence

By carefully selecting each component Nexus aims at creating the best possible mix of components to make their power supplies as silent as possible. Nexus power supplies are the leading the market when it comes to solid performance at the lowest possible noise level. When Nexus tests the noise level they do this in a ISO-certified chamber fore noise tests. It is important to know that the background noise in such a chamber is a little over 15 dB(A). These are the best possible conditions for these tests and hence you should always be aware when a manufacturer is claiming dB(A) values lower then 15 dB(A). How were the able to measure this?

Modular & Sleeved Cables

Active PC Circuit

Power Factor Correction (PFC) allows the power distribution system to operate at maximum efficiency. Nexus tests the noise level of their power supplies in an ISO-certified chamber. This chamber is the industry's standard for noise tests and the background noise in such a chamber is a little over 15 dB(A). Any product producing lesser noise then 15 dB(A) cannot be measured. This graph shows our measurements at different loads.

The RX-8500 is guaranteed to provide you with over 80% efficiency at all loads and as you can see from this graph, the efficiency level reaches sometimes as high as 85%. Lesser waste means lesser heat and better conditions in your PC system....and a lower electricity bill.
