Hard Drive Enclosures - Smart Drive 2002 Copper Cool, Quiet Hard Drive Enclosure
Truly a smart solution for your annoying hard drive noise, the innovative GUP SmartDrive Enclosure quiets your hard drive by approximately four decibels (even more with particularly noisy hard drives). A reduction of four decibels with the Smart Drive enclosure can translate into a hard drive whose perceivable noise is about half that of the original drive. In terms of perceivable noise reduction, the Smart Drive will have a modest quieting effect on an already quiet hard drive like the Western Digital SE Series, while it will have a more noticeable and dramatic effect with a noisier hard drive.
The Smart Drive 2002 Copper hard drive enclosure is overlayed with crisp looking, black anodized aluminum. The core of the Smart Drive 2002 Copper is made up of a highly conductive copper plates. In addition, the Smart Drive uses heat sink like channels to allow for efficient heat dissipation from your hard drive. The Smart Drive can be mounted in the forward position in a 5 1/4" drive bay in order to leave the attractive front face exposed on your drive bay panel. However, in order to ensure the most efficient cooling situation, we recommend mounting the Smart Drive back in the drive bay so as to leave an air gap between the front of the drive bay and the Smart Drive enclosure. This versatile hard drive enclosure also works with both parallel ATA and serial ATA (SATA).
This Smart Drive 2002 Copper hard drive enclosure is truly one of the most innovative enclosures available. In our tests, the Smart Drive 2002 Copper significantly lowered hard drive temperatures (even in 10,000 rpm drives). With other hard drive enclosures designed to lower the noise level of your hard drive, overheating was a concern. With the Smart Drive 2002 Copper your hard drive is both cooler and quieter than if it was simply mounted on hard drive rails.
