A little background on the Silent Mouse

Nowadays we are so used to using the PC, and have come acquainted with track pads, multi-touch displays etc. that we no longer need the confirmation of a mouse's clicking action. The computer user knows when they have clicked or double-clicked. Every computer user also sees a graphical reaction of the mouse click on their computer screen, and PC's are so fast these days that you practically never have to wait for your PC to respond. You simply do not need a clicking-sound confirmation of your action... So why still hear the clicking mouse sound? Well it turns out that this is part of switching-technology, and it is not so easy to remove the physical sound when clicking. Nexus has managed to find a solution. By using some patented switching technology, Nexus created a soundless (absolutely noiseless) silent mouse.

Sound Engineers Silent Mouse

Video and Sound Studios

Nexus has a lot of customers working in video and music studios that rely on Nexus components for a truly quiet working environment. Nexus asked some of them to test the Nexus Silent Mouse... and they were delighted. No more clicking-sounds. Just a silent environment without distracting clicking noises and sounds from their computer's mouse.

What to expect from the Nexus Silent Mouse

Note: The "clicking" buttons on this silent mouse are very quiet, when compared to a standard mouse. If you are applying excessive pressure to any moving part of any device, it will make a sound from the impact of your finger pounding on the moving button. This mouse, however, does not add the normal clicking sound from the button that mice users are accustomed to. The wheel on the Nexus mouse does not have specialized quiet technology applied to it, but is fairly quiet, as most mouse wheels are. The Nexus silent mouse is very nice, truly silent, and is the foremost example of a quiet mouse. This is not just a "quieter" than average mouse, it is a silent mouse with silent technology applied to it.

Nexus Silent Mouse Demonstration

Nexus technology gives you an idea about the sound difference compared to a regular nice quality mouse. Check out the video and you will hear what we mean. The test is not done in a anechoic chamber so the dB(A) values are just for comparison reference.
