Question: Is my PC Windows Vista ready?
Answer:
All of our PCs are now Windows Vista ready. When default or higher options are selected, each PC is ready for Windows Vista premium tier functions.
Additionally, all versions of Windows XP being sold with our systems are premium versions of genuine Windows XP. Once Windows Vista is released you will be able to upgrade to a comparable version of Windows Vista and pay only a nominal cost, including shipping and handling. An upgrade certificate will be provided with each machine.
The following are upgrades available with your selection of a premium version of genuine Windows XP:
- Genuine Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business Edition (for a nominal cost)
- Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (for a nominal cost)
- Genuine Windows XP Home Edition to Windows Vista Home Basic Edition (for $49 + a nominal cost)
- Genuine Windows XP Home Edition to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (for $79 + a nominal cost)
Offer Dates
The Express Upgrade to Windows Vista offer is available to users through March 15, 2007. Customers must redeem the offers by March 31, 2007.
All of our systems are Windows Vista Premium ready with default options selected.
A Windows Vista Premium Ready PC includes at least:
- 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 GB of system memory
- Support for DirectX9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory, Pixel Shader 2.0, and 32 bits per pixel.
- 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.
- DVD-ROM Drive
- Audio output capability
- Internet access capability
Our configurable systems often allow users to select less powerful options or to leave out options altogether. You do not need all of the above options to use core functions of Windows Vista. Keep in mind that you will need the following basic options in order to run Windows Vista without the premium functions of Windows Vista.
A Windows Vista Capable PC (core Vista functions) should include at least:
- A modern processor (at least 800MHz)
- 512 MB of system memory
- A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable
